Freshman Fund had a great segment on ABC last night. I’ll post the details as soon as we have a digital copy. Looks like we’ll have no shortage of sources for the clip thanks to the many emails we’ve received offering to send it to us.
Here’s a clipping service pitch that just landed in our inbox:
Hello:

There was a segment that aired on the WABC Eyewitness News last night that featured Mr. Jason Olim from your organization.
Please let me know if you would like to order this segment.Download-$160. Clip is there to you within a few hours or ordering.
DVD is $150 plus messenger and a CD is $150 plus messenger.I would need a credit card for a first time order.
If you have any questions or would like to order this segment please contact me.
Thanks.

Let me get this straight: Someone took the time to watch our clip and track down our company email address with the hope of making a sale. This is their business. Is the above email really all they could muster? C’mon!
I have a clipping service and a broadcast monitoring service providing tv news clips and transcript reports with demographic info too. I can provide the same clips for almost half the cost. But the real message here, is that cold-call-blind-emails do NOT work. A quick phone could have done only marginally better but not much. This looks like a boiler plate or even automated fishing pitch. The truth for me is that it is simply not worth the time and effort to track down a blind pitch. Magnolia is a family business started 70 years ago. We pride ourself on customer service, not the ability to woo client out of the woodwork with false claims. The best compliment is a referral . I dont’t promise what I can not deliver. We can send samples and
preview the clip before you buy. I f you still need a clip give us a call to talk to me.
